The Story: (A mini history lesson) || While living in Korea, I used to LOVE visiting Gyeongju, a city on the southeast coast which was the capital of the country during the 1,000-year-long Silla dynasty reign. In this town, they are famous for baking Gyeongju pang (or Gyongju bread) which is a red bean paste filled snack. At first, I wasn’t a fan, but over time my taste buds adjusted. This town is also known for its extensive historical artifacts, one of which is Sumakse, or the 1,000-year smile (the shape of this soap). The point of me using this mold is to pay homage to a land that I had once called home for 3 ½ years.
The Escentials:
